History

New buisness.jpg

Bay Osteopathy and Injury Rehabilitation was established in late 2017.  Joe and Nat had long thought about combining their friendship and business goals by establishing an Osteopathic clinic together when finally this opportunity arose in the beautiful Hervey Bay area.

They both determined that the area was in need of a new health avenue such as osteopathy as it provided a unique treatment style that was not previously offered to the community. They are both now happy to call Hervey Bay their home and are ecstatic with the community's welcome and acceptance.

Joseph Henry

Joseph Henry is an experienced osteopath originally from northern New South Wales. After graduating from university Joe moved to Sydney where he worked for a number of years in a busy health facility. It was here that Joe not only further developed his clinical skills and education, but also became a respected and well sought after practitioner. Joe is now a resident of the Fraser Coast region and is keen to bring his skills and health expertise to the Hervey Bay community. Whether it is helping you recover from an acute sporting injury, decreasing your pain from a chronic condition or simply increasing your functional capacity Joe takes great pride in any help he can provide.

During his study Joe received a SARRAH (Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health) scholarship which helped him to thrive throughout his university years, sparking a passion that he followed all the way to Sydney and now to the beautiful town of Hervey Bay. Always looking to further his education and experience, for Joe it’s all about the pride in seeing his patients’ lives improve as a result of their Osteopathic treatment.

Nat Sloane

Nat embarked on his osteopathy journey with an extensive 5-year training at Southern Cross University, during which he was awarded the Services for Australian Rural and Remote Allied Health (SARRAH) scholarship. After graduating, he gained valuable experience working in various clinics in Sydney and the South Coast of NSW. With the belief that he is only as good as his last treatment, Nat continuously explores new approaches and skills in patient assessment and treatment through regular training.

Nat believes in providing patient-centred, individualised care for each of his patients to help them achieve the best possible outcome. He will evaluate your condition and build a program that is designed not only to ease the pain but also to guide you back to your desired level of activity and health. As a fitness enthusiast who has recovered from numerous injuries himself, he has special interests in addressing musculoskeletal restrictions and movements to enhance performance, prevent injury or restore balance in the body.

With a passion to share his skills and clinical expertise, Nat has recently relocated to the Fraser Coast region and he is excited to immerse himself in the Hervey Bay community.

Jessica Garner

Jessica graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy). Jess is originally from Melbourne where she found her love for osteopathy after visiting her local practitioner at the time for various injuries. From then, she has connected with the principles of osteopathy and the holistic nature of treatment and management. Jess is enthusiastic to be a part of the developing osteopathic community and continually improving her skills and clinical reasoning.

Jess has a keen passion for health care and appreciates the uniqueness of each individual. She believes its important to understand each patient’s lifestyle to get them back to doing what they love as quickly as possible. Jess aims to achieve this by tailoring a personalised treatment and management plan. She believes it is imperative for the person to fully understand the origin of their musculoskeletal complaint, particularly when the cause is away from the site of pain. She has an eagerness to understand the mechanics of their complaint to prevent issues rising again and holds great value in working as a team with the individual to get them back to doing what they love.
